Hi, I’m Ena Piroska, founder of Oxygeni Hair Australia — living in Melbourne with my husband David Gellei and our daughter.
Originally from Budapest, Hungary, my family has been part of the hairdressing industry for over 20 years. My husband is a third-generation hairdresser, and my father-in-law was one of Hungary’s top 5 stylists and a proud member of the Wella Top Team.
In Europe, we built our own barber salon and training academy, where we educated stylists and understood the everyday challenges that hair and beauty professionals face — from client expectations to changing trends.

When we moved to Australia, our goal was clear:
to introduce a European standard of scalp and hair care education and help professionals offer truly personalised, results-driven services.

THE HISTORY OF OXYGENI HAIR OXYGEN THERAPY
The innovator behind this therapy is Mariann Bácsalmási, Lead Educator and Hair Therapist at Oxygeni Hair and Skin.
In 1994, a renowned dermatologist developed a specialized oxygen therapy treatment after years of research. This treatment was found to be highly effective and safe in supporting patients with conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, burns, and other skin concerns. Its positive results have been recognized globally and are applied in numerous medical institutions. Inspired by these advancements, Mariann Bácsalmási adapted the technology to create an innovative hair therapy solution tailored to support scalp and hair health.

Mariann Bácsalmási
Mariann Bácsalmási has a background as a dietitian and lifestyle consultant, helping clients improve their health through nutrition and lifestyle changes. Her passion for natural, holistic solutions led to the creation of Oxygeni Hair and Skin, combining oxygen therapy with chemical-free products and lifestyle adjustments to support scalp and hair health.
With over a decade of experience, Mariann has developed:
- A hair therapy treatment plan.
- A product line free from chemicals and harmful additives.
- Educational programs, including a comprehensive one-year training program for hairdressers and beauticians.
Her commitment to natural beauty care has led to the development of over 800 pages of educational material and the training of 80 professionals in 2021 alone.

INGREDIENTS
Oxygeni Hair products contain carefully selected active ingredients, protecting the scalp and hair from artificial, harmful substances. We also strive to be kind to the environment by minimising the use of fossil fuels in our manufacturing processes.
When we created our brand, we believed that products with natural active ingredients are the best way to improve hair and scalp health, so it was important to us that our products were free of chemicals and other harmful substances. Oxygeni Hair products contain vegan active ingredients, are not enriched with any dyes or fragrances, and are not tested on animals.
Biodegradable packaging
Biodegradable refers to the ability of materials to break down and return to nature. In order for packaging products or materials to qualify as biodegradable, they must completely break down and decompose into natural elements within a short time after disposal – typically a year or less. The ability to biodegrade within landfills helps to reduce the buildup of waste, contributing to a safer, cleaner and healthier environment.
The future is in hair therapy and natural cosmetics
According to a hypothesis, twenty years from now there will be no hair salons, only hair therapy centers that also provide hairdressing services. Based on my professional experience, I fully support this notion.
In most cosmetic procedures, the problem is not solved, only the symptoms are treated. Our natural cosmetics and cosmetic oxygen therapy offer natural solutions, based on providing cells with proper oxygen, minerals, and nutrients.
